Editorial Standards

TeenLearner exists to give teenagers and students accurate, practical money education. Here is how we hold ourselves to that.

Who Writes TeenLearner

TeenLearner is written and reviewed by Robert Puharich — a high school teacher with 20 years of classroom experience, three degrees from the University of British Columbia including a Master’s in Education, quoted in Yahoo Finance on financial education, and co-author of “Building Brilliance.” Interviews feature named professionals speaking from their own expertise.

How We Verify Information

Statistics and product details are checked against primary sources — government agencies (like the Canada Revenue Agency), the institutions themselves, and named surveys — and linked so you can verify them yourself. Canadian tax and account rules (TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, student loans) are checked against official government publications.

Our Calculators

Our financial calculators run standard financial formulas (including Canadian semi-annual compounding for mortgage calculations) and are tested against known reference values. They are educational tools, not financial advice — always verify numbers with your own institution before making decisions.

What We Are Not

We are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing on TeenLearner is personalized financial advice. We explain how things work so you can make your own informed decisions. See our full disclaimer.

Updates & Corrections

Financial rules change. We date our updates, refresh key articles regularly, and fix errors when readers point them out. Spotted something wrong? Contact us — we would rather be corrected than be wrong.

Advertising & Affiliates

Some articles contain affiliate links, which may earn us a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend — recommendations are based on merit, and sponsored or affiliate content is disclosed.
